Just a cup of hot chocolate, but sometimes that one cup can warm you up, put a smile on your face, and lets you relax for that 5 minutes you really needed.
Plus, if you're making a batch of truffles, it makes the whole ritual extra special.
Yields: 2 Cups
INGREDIENTS:
2 C Milk, 2% fat
1/4 C Cocoa powder, unsweetened
1~2 t Sugar
1/2 t Salt
2 T Chocolate chips
1/4 C Heavy cream
DIRECTIONS:
1. Heat milk in a small sauce pot and warm just to steaming over low heat.
2. Add cocoa powder, sugar and salt and whisk to mix completely with no lumps.
3. Add chocolate chips and whisk to melt completely. Turn off heat.
4. In a separate metal bowl, whisk heavy cream to a soft-peak whipped cream.
5. Ladle in hot chocolate into individual cups and top with whipped cream.
