DID YOU KNOW? | |
Yam or Sweet Potato? | |
* According to Harold McGee's On Food and Cooking, what we know as yam is a type of sweet potato with orange flesh. It was a marketing mishap in 1930s in the U.S., where it was introduced confusingly as yam. There are other kinds of sweet potato with pale, yellow, and purple flesh. |
