Along with kabocha, I leave a couple of pomegranates on the table to keep small pieces of autumn at home. Then when I can see the inside taking shape through the shriveled skin, that's the cue I should pop them open before it's too late. My mind runs in all directions to figure out ways to make the most out of the ruby colored pulp on my next day off.
